>>35011971For the first three generations I'm not too big on Charmander, Charmeleon, Blastoise, Bayleef, the Treecko line or Blaziken. I don't necessarily dislike them but nothing about them is particularly appealing to my tastes. When it comes to Gen 4, the only one I care for is Piplup with Turtwig and Grotle being generally inoffensive (I will say I like the little hardhat look Grotle has though). The biggest gripe I have with them is a lack of branching out - they all feel really samey in their appeals and each of them contains some form of metallic element to their fully evolved designs. I can see why some would appreciate this as consistency, however it's just a bore to me in its entirety and didn't leave me feeling like I had any options. Empoleon's fingers also really bother me, I don't feel as if they added to the design at all while also being a distraction upon its flippers. Lastly, while it is rather petty, I really don't like monkeys and the Chimchar line are too accurate to their source look for me to get over so they were an instant out for me.
