The Spaceworld Proto reimagines the Tangela concept as such:
Curly "haired" baby evolves into Tangela, a critter whose "hair" has grown out of control and tangled up. Then, upon evolution to its final stage, its hair is styled into drills and throughly kempt. And I'll take that dynamic over "Tangela with less detail and shitty 'arms'" anyday.
