>>28393328I didn't make this thread, but the ones I was making for a while till about June were largely about an actual RP group we've started in a Discord. I can post details if you want, been a while since we've advertised and things are going good mostly, but we could use some new members while we recycle some that weren't active for more than a second.
That said, playing yourself is a fine idea, but in a sense that's still an OC. One of my characters, Oktavius, is literally me with some aspects exaggerated and somewhat stylized. This one, Maple, isn't, but is still pretty close and very easy for me to identify with, and it's fun to try something a little different like that. She's my main, as well. And even as for Oktavius's case, I think self-inserts are great as long as you're honest with your own flaws and character.
