I haven't watched since XY, just finished the first episode of PM, my thoughts:
Actually good first episode, a lot of Kanto mons but I can't complain since the flashback happens in Kanto, I would be lying if I said that it didn't made me a bit nostalgic too (Dodrio crowing hit me good).
The story between Kagaskhan and Pichu was neat, it had a movie short feel to it (mostly just Pokemon talking to each other), though I think the resolution was a bit strange, I don't think Pichu's weight would matter to a Pokemon like Kangaskhan, I think a better resolution would be a random trainer catching Kangaskhan and leaving Pichu/Pikachu alone, that would reflect really well why he hated Ash (a trainer) at first, they could even show later that Kangaskhan was having a good life with her new trainer, so it's not too edgy or questionable, I still enjoyed the content in the actual episode though.
Mew was kind of an asshole imo but he saved the Kangababy, so I guess my impression of him didn't end up tainted. I liked Go and want to see more of Koharu (she's cute), I haven't watched SM which is about a literal school from what I know, but pic related made me wonder how that works in the Pokemon world, Go is basically a delinquent... Now that I think about it, since both he and Ash are in the same spectrum personality-wise and even doing raids according to the next episode preview, it'll probably feel kinda like a delinquent manga in a way (two bakas rushing forward to kick things).
btw one last thing, if Koharu's sailor uniform is something from school, how they are going to justify she still using it in the future? Isn't she going to travel with Ash and Go?
