>>53490168I don't hate it but it felt like such a half-baked, basic bitch pokemon game without much to make it stand out from other games. It was yet another linear pokemon game with 8 gyms and a champion battle at the end . The "villains" were lame and almost nonexistent. With shared exp from the beginning and mega raids giving tons of exp candy and other loot, it cut a lot of the grinding required from earlier games and made it feel shorter (I think this a good thing, but it needed more content to make up for shorter gameplay). It weird with the half open world, half linear world, and some things felt lazy and half-baked, the digging bros being the worst offender imo. Also pretty much no after game, unless you count the DLC you had to pay for.
SV has a lot of the same issues, to be sure, but with a large, fully open world, more boss fights, and fun multiplayer, SV is way more replayable and I'm more forgiving of it.
