>>33587146Unpopular opinion, but I support this. Why bloat the Pokedex even further? There are already so many forgettable shitmons since each generation needed its own serving of filler. Not to mention way too many legendaries to make any reasonable lore.
I'd rather have many of the old Pokemon reworked, maybe even some retconned out of existence altogether. Regional variants are cool and a nice way to give new life to old pocket monsters.
Of course, this won't be happening with Gamefreak's philosophy of "every design is special and should not be thrown away", so gen VIII will most likely introduce at least 50 new rejects that didn't make it into past generations.
