How do I pick a good pokemon to support my lead?

I showed it to a friend but he said that using Galvantula AND Forretres on one team is kinda useless since they are both primarily lead Pokemon, and that with my current setup I am way too weak against Fire Pokemon, especially Air balloon Heatran?
So, should I cut Forretres/Galvantula? Maybe add a special wall? I dunno, help would be apreciated
