That aside, Nidoking is one of my favourite Pokémon. Both Nido lines, actually. They represent for me what Pokémon design should be all about: cute animals with features representative of their typing evolving into hulking monsters, which still bear a faint resemblance to the animal they're originally based on.
If only it had just 10 or so more base speed. I'd really like to use it competitively since it's got such a great movepool, but it's too slow to outspeed anything, and not bulky enough to survive powerful STAB hits.
Is it viable in doubles?
