Wow, was Wake a cool fight. The rain was an issue for sure, rain boosted water moves were sure to one shot everything, so I decided to use Magnezone with HP/Def/SpDef investment as a pivot to bait out a non-water move, then either hit them with a TBolt or switched out to Gengar/Gardevior/Scizor to clean up. No deaths since the disaster at the Pokemon Mansion, but I remember this next stretch being hard in vanilla Platinum so we shall see. I'll report back after the fight with Byron.
>>46069414You certainly don't have to EV train, and IVs are still random. You're given the EV boosting items by an NPC in Solaceon, as well as access to an NPC that makes EV training really easy. I do it because it makes fights a little less stressful knowing a certain move won't kill me or not having to rely on a range for an OHKO.
