More options doesn't make the game deeper if there's no way to reasonably account for everything. It just magnifies the rock-paper-scissor aspect of the game.
The way I see it, a gimmick is only acceptable if it's an OPTION you can use in battle. If megas were too restrictive because you more or less had to make room for one in your team, I don't see how dynamax is any better when it's essentially mandatory for every match.
