>>58601813Since we are receiving new Megas tomorrow I thought I might share this interesting piece of lore
https://www.reddit.com/r/PokeLeaks/comments/1omos20/spoiler_ending_cutscene_of_a_locked_side_mission/According to this cutscene from a locked bonus mission, the reason why there are new Megas in PLZA is because of
Lysandre firing the Ultimate Weapon in XY.Fun fact: XY and BW2 are stated to be occurring at the same time, so if we assume that they line up with the real world based on their release dates, this should mean that PLZA actually takes place in 2017 (or BW2 and XY take place in 2017, but this shouldn't make sense because neither game has Rotom Phones). Thus, a lot of our assumptions about the Pokemon timeline would actually be incorrect, meaning that SM takes place in 2015 (based on it taking place two years after XY) and from there SWSH and SV take place an indeterminate amount of time after that. It actually does all check out since SWSH introduced Rotom Phones, if we assume that SWSH and PLZA take place alongside each other in 2017 or SWSH takes place in 2016. But does this not in turn contradict games taking place in the years that they are released? Why would games take place alongside real world time and then just... stop? Is it incorrect to assume that they ever did at all? Answers only leave us with more questions... Now this brings us back to writing: Do we feel like accepting this explanation of the timeline and/or existence of new Mega Evolutions based on what the game tells us in that video I linked? Or do we just think this is all cope for adding new Mega Evolutions and not being able to pretend like they were always there and Gamefreak not knowing how to organize their timeline?
