>>47635938ok I've been lurking here and I'll give my two cents now. I understand your argument. Personally, I have CGC graded cards. I just looked on my shelf and I have 5 of them. One is a Japanese Charizard Grade 4, the other one is banned japanese grimer at at 6.5, then I got a Japanese misty's tears 9.5, banned nude misty at 8.5, and dark gyarados 1st edition at 8.5
Now I have a shit ton of other rares in my binder. Hundreds of cards within it. However, I bought the graded cards for two reasons. One, I bought cards that are highly wanted because they are either popular in nature/banned cards which will never be reprinted and 2, because they will continue to grow in cost guaranteed over time. I enjoy these cards which are graded and know they are authentic. From a financial perspective, if I die...they will be passed on to my kids, which if they want to later sell them for whatever reason, will get a good chunk of cash for later....not because they are slabbed, but because they are simply cards that are valuable for what they are and graded. Not every random card should be slabbed, but it's worth it to have cards that are limited and special to you. I personally just see it that way. There's also nothing wrong with certain cards being graded because the higher the cost the card, the higher the chance of there being fakes on the market. I've been to a Mexican black market and they had some EXTREMELY good fakes of 1st base charizards that fooled me at first. There's just a huge reason why certain cards deserved to be graded any many reasons why certain cards should not be graded. What do you think of my argument?
