Safe for the handholding, gen 7 was peak in many regards. The pokemon designs were either extremely cool or cute, the areas looked bright and pretty, the story was grandiose and USUM added even more to that, the trainers looked cute or hot or both as well.
Even ultra beasts that don't actually look like pokemon at all were brought well and fit in the overall narrative the game had for them.
People here were happy.
