They spent an unholy amount of years making a 3ds game, release a movie that literally nobody talks about a year after it's release. They then were in development hell making a shitty, low budget sequel with atrocious writing and "puzzles" that even toddlers could solve, and they treat the most obvious things as huge plot twists.
I just don't get why they were obsessed with pushing this idea so hard, as if it was going to be the next big pillar for Pokemon alongside Go and the TCG.
Why couldn't we just get a normal animated movie set in the mainline world. Not necessarily a plot about collecting 8 badges and becoming a champion, just a normal story based in the actual world of the games with characters from those games
