It's probably impossible to cause a jump-scare, unless you're writing one of those Pop-up phobia books. Otherwise, obviously it's likely not to happen.
Disgust is an easy thing to do, but you can create fear. That's for sure- that's how creepy pastas work. That's achieved through environment, the sense of looming, unknowing, playing with the reader's thoughts, etc. There's a multitude of ways to do that. Good creepypasta manages to do that, doesn't it?
