Just some sick kid that you catch a pokemon for, then trounce him easily throughout your journey. I hate feeling guilt for beating a rival. It should feel like an accomplishment. So as a rival he fails, he feels more like saying a make a wish kid is your rival. Then instead of doing the right thing and letting him win, you just wreck his shit. wally's character in a nut shell
