The biggest draw of the Pokemon francise is no matter what mainstream game it is, you were always the one that shaped the story.
Sure, Pokemon always had a lackluster story, but the nice thing about the games is that your experiences is always different as that off other players on the same game, the games always allowed you to do some side-quests, allows you to visit optional areas and get off the straight path at one point, doing your own things in your own order. The problem of BW is that it enforces a story on you that is basically a straight path without having you, the player, have any say on it. The experience becomes ungodly stale this way and replaying BW becomes just downright tedious because you know whats going to happen in the story, and you know where you you are forced to go next, because the story told you so.
I could forgive it if it had a good story with multiple endings, but no, the story just feels lackluster, the end is just feels a twist just for the sake of being a twist, even though you can see it coming from miles away and the choices you made when answering N's question are just meaningless.
