The entire time you're just going around fighting gym leaders, kicking hop's ass every 6 seconds, doing blue's clues level historical analysis, and fighting the (((bad guys))) ie marnie's S*MPs, all of which has the tone of a bunch of first graders playing tag. And then out of nowhere it's like a fuking final fantasy endgame boss. To make that even worse, you can sit there doing nothing and the NPC dogs will win the fight for you, and then the game immediately forgets you saved the world or something so you can go do the champion match. I enjoy the new mons, the wild area (despite the infamous trees), and the competitive scene, but what the fuck even is the story here?
