>>21834060Do you know the job of a professional food critic? You lose major points if you say things like "I don't like fish" or "I don't like potatoes". Why? Because the job (done right) dictates that you judge the meal fairly regardless of your views on it.
>I don't think they made the game betterIs an "I don't like potatoes and side-salad" moment. Those side "things" were well executed and added to the game regardless if you liked them or not. A couple of your complaints about HGSS are legitimate and many are plenty opinionated in a wrong way.
The BF is praised because, even if they didn't take the risk of creating something entirely new for extra points, they added something which was already good and crowd-pleasing.
Now about X/Y:
>It was extremely shortPerhaps it was for many. i only took 4 less hours to reach the Elite 4 compared to B/W, maybe because i was caught up trying out Amie amongst the other features. Still don't see why you praise ORAS, though. It's around the same length.
>the execution of the character progression was very linear and awfully executedLegitimate complaint that i already addressed
>gym leaders/elite 4/champion were all forgettableI'd call this an opinion, but honestly, intriguing Gym Leaders/E4/Champs are the exception, not the rule. Most of them in most games are not particularly memorable. But whatever, i'll give you this one.
>very little post-gameWay worse than Gen 4's and around the same amount as B/W 1. I mean there's the usual Legendary hunting and new areas, but at least it offered a final rival match, a neat Looker side-story, Mega Stone scavenging, Friend Safaris and the Neutered Battle Tower aka Battle Maison to keep you busy. Nothing particularly incredible, but HEY that's pretty much the same as ORAS!
>The locations were uninteresting and didn't feel like they were all connected. This one is pretty much baseless opinion once more.
Sorry, i still can't see why ORAS are so much greater than X/Y.
