>>50653100I watched all of BW and Iris was never the problem, she behaved as a young prodigy should behave with someone less talented, in other words frustrated and having to mentor (It's like when your mother let you go out to play, but with the condition of taking care of your little brother who barely knows how to walk) a more experienced person like Cynthia would have the patience for this, but Iris, being so young, needed to mature.
The real problem is how they handled Ash, behaving like a rookie when he no longer had to, it's okay that he was childish, but in terms of battles he had to be equal to or higher than Iris, so Iris had very justified the way he treated this version of Ash. If they had used a new protagonist (For example a younger rookie Hilbert/Hilda) no one would have complained, since it would be a parallel to the older sister figure that Misty carried in the original series.
Now in the current series what was the big change, mainly that Iris and Ash treat each other as equals, there is still a habit of teasing each other, but now it just feels like a game.
