Lin route Taka is remarkably useless and possible the worst tag partner in the whole game. I feel like the narrative reason for this is incredibly fucked up. Being in the Lin/Zekrom route allows you to save Taka, which allows him to man up later and openly defect of his own will to help you fight against Team Meteor at the end of episode 18. However, he doesn't have much to show for it afterwards and basically undoes all the character development he did.
Meanwhile, being in the Anna/Reshiram route means all Taka does is follow you around for a bit to go uguu pwease wove me on you before he just gets shanked and dies. Then he gets resurrected, which also gives him a magical powerup of character development into a more confident lad that should belong to someone who openly defied their evil terrorist heritage, instead of cowering behind you and dying. The fuck's the moral here supposed to be?
