Hello, I am working with some translators from the German district of the pokemon company. Technically I am not working for Nintendo nor for Game Freak, so I can share you this;
- I don't know what the final starters would look like, but they will have a common theme... And it has NOTHING to do with the Region it is based on, just like previous gens. It is true that there will be a "Cool" starter, a "Lady" starter and a "Bulky" starter, but there is no pattern in which will be which. Its Game Freak, they do what ever they want.
- The legendary pokemon are also NOT based on the UK history/lore;
Gen 5 region based on New York - Legendary Pkmn based on Japanese lore
Gen 6 region based on France - Legendary Pkmn based on Norwegian lore
Gen 7 region based on Hawaii - Legendary Pkmn based on Space/Alchemical lore
Gen 8 region based on the UK - Legendary Pkmn based on Spain lore
- Beside the fact that the starters and Legendaries have less to non to do with the UK, there are many UK elements and reference in the game itself.
- Speaking of reference, every gen will be reference. Some more (Unova) than others (Hoenn). Thats all, just reference. NO secondary region to explore. There are some familiar faces you encounter...
- There are a few story-lines. The main story will be about two families. Just like in ORAS, depending on the version, you will meet up with one of the two families. And like Black and White 2 there is an location exclusive that ties in to the main plot.
- There will be free DLC, it is the replacement of the Mystery Gift feature.
- The regional Pokedex will contain at least 427 Pokemon.
