...or at least I think so. Awhile back I made a team in Pokemon Pearl (pic related) with the idea in mind that each Pokemon, except for the first and last in the party, would share a type with each Pokemon next to it. It was fun and mildly challenging, and now I've decided to make a set of rules for it, and I'm calling it Chainlink, because I can't think of anything less retarded.
BASIC RULES:
>After you obtain your first gym badge, no mono-type Pokemon are allowed to be used during route progression, Rival battles, Gym Leaders/Trainers, or evil team battles (you may use a mono-type Pokemon for your current team as long as you commit to evolving it into a dual-type Pokemon later in the game)
>AT ALL TIMES, you can use mono-type Pokemon to hunt/capture/obtain dual-type Pokemon for current or potential future use.
>The player's main team must consist of 6 dual-type Pokemon, where AT ALL TIMES the player must have an arrange-able order of Pokemon whose types are considered "linked". This means that every Pokemon in the team must be able to be rearranged in an order where one Pokemon shares a type with the next, and the one before it (e.g. Slot 1: Charizard|Fire/Flying, Slot 2: Butterfree|Bug/Flying).
