I just had a match where it was down to my 1 HP (Focus Sash) Polteageist, Choice Specs Gholdengo under Tailwind and a Murkrow in the back. The opponent had Armarouge and Scizor.
Their Armarouge was on low HP from Polteageist's not very effective 140 BP Stored Power.
Gholdengo might be able to deal a lot of Damage to Scizor but I wasn't confident. if it lives I just die and I was afraid of it carrying Bullet Punch or something. The time for move selection was running out and I panicked, I clicked Stored Power on Scizor and I didn't select Gholdengo's move in time.
So the game made Gholdengo use Trick on Armarouge, giving Choice Specs to it which is probably the worst possible move to use at that moment. not very effective Stored Power brought Scizor to low HP and it killed Gholdengo right after. I thought I got very close to winning, I could have won if I selected literally any other move for Gholdengo but it all fell apart, something like that.
but then the Armarouge was the one to finish Polteageist off and Cursed Body activated. I only had Murkrow left and my Murkrow has Heat Wave for.. reasons. She killed Scizor but had no way of damaging Armarouge. Armarouge died from Struggle's recoil.
Actually the worst, most undeserved win of my life. By pure luck, it was a whole fucking perfect combo I didn't mean to perform. I'm not very good at Online battles but silly things like this happen sometimes and Gholdengo keeps me going.
I'm not sure if they're still here but an anon in one of these threads inspired me to run Fairy Tera blast on Polteageist for coverage. I got new weakness but I no longer get completely assraped by all the dragons running around
