Everything about Alola just makes me happy, so much character and love in every pokemon and environment, the region felt like a real ecosystem of pokemon and each one was thought out with personality and cool biological facts that have literally no impact on games, they simply exist to flesh out this dex full of mons that feel like living breathing creatures. The story was intrusive but it also helped give us some of the most memorable characters in the series to date and they're all so great, everything was such a nice breath of fresh air from the games to the anime it made me fall in love with this series all over again.
Only for Galar to show up and break my fucking kneecaps and make me feel like a retard for ever liking this franchise.
Anyone who can unironically place gens 6 and 8 above 7 on any day should actually seek mental help.
