Bulbasaur is best starter, ever.
I've never played a game the first time through without initially picking fire. When I first played Blue, I grabbed Charmander. When I first played Gold, Cyndaquil. Etc. But the only generation where fire was my favorite was Gen 2 honestly. Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, Turtwig, Snivy, Froakie. Froakie will change shit, as I'm picking it over Fennekin because honestly, who would pick Fennekin?
The hardest gym battles for me ever were Tate & Liza and Fantina. Took way too goddamned long to beat those niggas. Whitney's Miltank went down like a failure.
The hardest fucking rival battle was fighting Gary in Silph Co. For both RB & FRLG. Fuck that guy
HGSS is what a Pokemon game should be. Playing a game without having the pokemon follow you after playing it feels extremely unfinished.
