Before then, even froghaters concentrated their hatred onto AssGren while saying that Greninja itself was Ok, so Anime Greninja went on to becoming a scapegoat for normal Greninja. Nowadays its much less controversial to hate Greninja itself, so recent tourists are definitely more outspoken about it for sure, but while it's definitely not nearly as loved here as it was back then, i don't think it's universally hated or anything close to it, even nowadays.
