I had a really elaborate story for my party when I played Blue. I had entire paragraphs describing the pokemon's history and personalities and how they fared during the journey all written out on my old computer. I still kind of imagine scenarios for the games today, but nothing to that extent.
On my current team, I see my Glaceon and Sylveon as battle buddies who slay dragons together and have best friend shenanigans. Sylveon is a plucky girl and Glaceon is very tsundere.
