The "only one exists" was never accurate anyway. One is available IN YOUR GAME, that is what is legendary about them. And event legendaries are legendary because they're not available in the game normally.
Next is that the games are set in different regions with different legends and some of the same ones.
When you can catch a Groudon in Hoenn and then catch one in Johto it's pretty safe to say these aren't the same Groudon, especially when a RSE Groudon won't give you access to Rayquaza in HGSS.
So no OP, there aren't only one of any legendary. Only an idiot would think that.
