Once it one-shots your roided up main, it proceeds to steamroll the rest of your team without effort because you didn't train them.
I'm assuming you're operating purely on Red/Blue logic and disingenuously applying it to the rest of the franchise because anyone who played the games in their youth can provide sufficient counterarguments.
>>54003250 is correct, the whole point was catching Pokemon and finding ones you liked. If you decided not to use any Pokemon outside of what you started with, you either didn't like the game and wanted it over with asap, or you began playing the games as a min/maxing adult. There is no way a child could miss the point with the Pokemon insanity of the times and considering the fact that collecting is hammered into your skull.
