That bit about wanting to get excited about pokemon again really hits home. I used to be crazy into collecting merch and had a huge shelf packed with pokemon stuff from brand new to classic 90s era.
After I moved last year, I put a few things out on my new shelf but most of it is still in boxes in my spare room. Kind of symbolizes how I feel about the franchise now.
