Starting with gen 3, the world almost gets destroyed in every single game except gen 5.
On the same topic, did anyone else think the plot of X was kino? The idea of turning everyone in Kalos/the world (I can't remember which one it was) immortal against their will is genuinely horrifying, and is a much better villain motive than "I WANT TO KILL EVERYBODY", even if the actual writing of the game wasn't really good enough to convey it properly. It's also probably the closest the Pokemon games have gotten to having the different versions be genuinely different. Sure, it only basically changes the interpretation of the characters and plot, but the bar is so low here that that's orders of magnitude beyond the other games.
