But if you want a discussion, then okay. Lycanroc has some rocks on its body. It's not obvious at first glance, no, but we can deduce that its claws could possibly be made of rock, and it has a rock spike in its hair and at its waist. This could give it the bare minimum it needs to be considered a rock type.
In addition to this, it's possible that its rocky nature could lean more towards its abilities than its actual body. You could possibly consider the idea that maybe it just has rock elemental capabilities. An emphasis in geokinetic capability.
It's also possible that its body could be harder and sturdier, with a body that could be coated in a plethora of minerals. This in itself giving it its 'Rock' nature. This means that it might not be made of actual rock, but be in tune with the element itself.
But all we really know is that at its base, this son of a bitch is rocking our world right now, and not in a gneiss way.
