0 chance of this happening for a new gen, don't be stupid

ORAS demo was a completely different situation, it was a remake meaning there wasn't much to leak in the first place and by the time the demo released we already knew all the mega evolutions. The only significant leak was Hoopa's new form, everything else was small in the grand scheme of things. Also, the 3DS hacking scene was kind of in its baby stages during that time so it was likely not seen as a huge risk

Over half the roster is "Too easy a choice". I'm pretty convinced that they simply didn't know he'd become THE most popular pokemon in Japan, so they pushed back for a while considering Sceptile already filled his Niche for some weird reason.

Anyway, i'm sure they realize that by now it's too late to actually add him. The hype is pretty much gone and not even HE would re-ignite it much, so they're like SCREW IT LET'S JUST ADD WHATEVER COMES TO MIND.

It's simple: Grass is an overall boring element. There's a reason people associate boredom with "Watching Grass Grow".

Most people like the adaptability and variety of water. Most of them are also mystified by the formlessness and sheer destructive or even creative power that fire has. Grass is nowhere near as essential or mystifying. As a matter of fact, it needs the previous 2 elements to live. Having it as a preference is like deliberately kucking yourself out of 2 clearly superior elemental choices.
