I beat Special Episodes 3 & 4 yesterday, though got busy with writefagging and some irl distractions, so couldn't post my thoughts right away. I've heard people complain about these two in particular (either finding them boring or unfair), but I thought they were fine and actually quite enjoyed them!
Episode 3 was focused on Sunflora, so I thought it wouldn't be of any interest to me. She was a character I'd kind of glossed over, since nothing about her really stuck out other than being able to read her diary (which is also true of Bidoof, and since you play his SE first and he's kind of an underdog/rookie character you naturally root for him a little more), but this episode ended up making me appreciate her a lot more. From her species' dopey face and her speech quirk of constantly saying "oh my gosh!", I kind of assumed she was a ditzy character, but it turns out this couldn't be further from the truth...
She's apparently actually the most experienced apprentice at the guild, to the point that the magnet police specifically came to her to send her (alone) after an S-rank outlaw that'd been leaving other adventurers stumped, even though she had a type disadvantage against both the outlaw and the dungeon he was hiding out in. Looking back through some of the diary entries (both hers and Bidoof's), this detail had already been hiding in plain sight: she gives a few helpful tips in her diary and seems to approach dungeons cautiously, and even in Bidoof's diary he gives a tip that he learned from her. In fact, Bidoof seems to really look up to her, to the point of pretty obviously having a crush on her.
Onto the story itself, I liked the concept of the outlaw and the interactions between Sunflora and Loudred, and I did tear up a little at the end (but mostly because I'm a crybaby). The gameplay was fine too, Grasswhistle and Razor Leaf were all I really needed, just don't bring too many Reviver Seeds because you might run into Bug Bite.
