>>53563615My first job was pretty good, at least at first. Decent paying drafting job that didn't require anything beyond 1 elective I took in high-school. Still no clue how I landed it, I was about a year out of college in a completely unrelated field, they contacted me out of the blue and I was sure it was a scam or the interview would end with me getting harvested for organs, but at that point I had nothing to lose so I went and it worked out.
Biggest problem was the typical 9-5, I was nocturnal even before I was old enough for online games where everyone played at night so nobody would pick up the phone and kill their dialup connection, caused a lot of problems my whole life until college when I had more flexibility. I was always exhausted from fighting my natural circadian rhythm and often late, got worse as time went on. My coworkers were great but our boss was a dick. Always yelling at people over the phone and literally growling in frustration loud enough I could hear it across the building, when things were slower and he was just chatting with the people around him he said a lot of disrespectful things that would be more appropriate from teenagers who didn't know better trying to impress their friends than coming from a man in his 40's in an office, and anything we needed from him would get "forgotten" or outright denied meanwhile he'd just take off whenever. He was usually polite when addressing anyone there directly but with how he was in general I was scared of him, I already have a lot of anxiety so asking for anything took several days to work up the courage, and often he'd change his mind after approving time off. Also the computers couldn't handle some of the jobs that would come our way and everyone in our department had been complaining we needed better ones before I was hired, 6 months after I left a coworker told me they never got them and our branch was closed because they couldn't keep up.
