So it's possible for your opponent to have a shiny, but for it to be normal when you catch it, cause the values change when the OT changes.
The inverse is also true though, so when you catch any shadow pokemon, there's a chance for it to be shiny even if it was normal when the opponent had it.
And he had the camera ready when it shone because he just sent it out, cause it's his pokemon, duh.
