Before somebody says "hurr but humans are just carbon durr", the difference is that pets and humans are alive and real, Pokémon aren't. Yes, it's ok if you nickname or don't nickname your Pokémon, i don't care about the way you play a singleplayer, but damn if you think your Pokémon are alive and not nicknaming them would be like naming your dog "Dog" you're fucking autistic (and i'm saying this legitimately, not even buzzwording here).
