I love Rowlet as well, it's my favorite second starter - and maybe this is just my love for og Decidueye peeking through, but I have mixed feelings for Hisuian Decidueye. It's grown on me but the shorter feathers make the legs look too long and thus have 'empty space.' I hope the rumors about catchable other starters are true because if that's the case I'm 100% picking up a Rowlet.
Based on your description I would recommend Rowlet, though.
