>>36696026With respect I think you're slightly misunderstanding my point. I know that Beldum and Magnemite are simple designs composed of a small number of shapes. But that's what's good about them. They use just the right amount of detail that nothing looks extraneous but they've still managed to instill a lot of personality and expression into them, without relying on a blatant design basis. They're both robots or some kind of automaton, and it would be all too easy to go with something like pic related, which isn't necessarily wrong, it's just very conventional and typical of a robot design.
