With Alola's fierce tropical storms, Altaria native to the region were forced to adapt to better handle the turbulent winds and frequent lightning strikes. As their appearance often heralds the coming storms well in advance, they are held in very high regard by Alola's populace. When angered their clouds darken to an oily black, allowing them to unleash fierce torrents of lightning upon their foes.
