As you can see, Minako Adachi used HALion sonic, a free instrument VSTware that was first used in gen 6 in most of the instrument and ueberschall's Neurofunk, which was first used in SWSH. She also used Serum (first used in USUM) for the synth and XLN Audio's addictive drums (first used in B2W2). She also used "Escape from the Planet of the Breaks" a vst first used in sun and moon.
as you can see, all but one instrument group were first used in the nupokemon era. You can make up your opinion based on this.
