You also realize that the other best alternative would be Arcanine who takes heavy damage from earthquake, or
Espeon who still takes high damage from heavy slam even with +2 defenses,

Yes there are ways to play around, but at the end of the day I know exactly what slot you are baton passing to and I can double target it, while you can't protect.
Any strategy that boxes you into a 100% guaranteed prediction that is wide open to any double targeting is pretty easy to defeat by, simply... well, double targeting.
