>>45118662I'm playing Renegade Platinum with the speedup patch. It makes battles faster (health drains instantly after lvl 25ish) and a bunch of the battle animations are faster. Also, dialogue is instant, so instant that when they ask "...is trying to learn blah blah," I sometimes skip right to the question before I get to read it.
The overworld stuff is still pretty slow, however. If you're in a tunnel or a gate, the animation is 60fps, but it drops to the original speed when you're in a city. If you've played Gen 5, you have an idea of how slow it is.
As for playing it, it is definitely worth it, it has lots of cool little details and it's the ideal gen for someone who has been around the block with pokemon games. If you are playing on a DS emulator, there is a fast forward option so the slow down is a non issue.
