The game is finishable in less than 15 hours quite easily, and was finished by leakers that fast early on, but to have a sub 15 hour completion time you're probably barely actually appreciating the experience (ie you're not catching things in the wild, not talking to NPCs etc.)
Pic related is my completion time. I did the following
- Fought almost every trainer on the routes
- Talked to all NPCs, checked every building in each town
- Caught most of the visible wild species
- Never lost a battle (so no backtracking or repeating things)
- Usually took NPC-offered shortcuts (ie when they ask if you want to go with them for a story section)
- Spent probably a total of about 3 hours doing Wild Area things. Reasonable chunk of that was finding a Shiny Stone for Roserade.
I would have honestly spent longer in the Wild Area if it didn't cause you to become overleveled so fast.
