>>37190985Holy shit, what a shit clickbait article. Literally nothing in that article, other than the author's snark, indicates any specific negative connection between the "Tottori sand beetle" and people playing Pokémon GO. Saying that would be the equivalent of Singapore saying Pokémon players were specifically responsible for the crimes that their pic related campaign is directed at; the truth, of course, is that Singapore used Pokémon to draw attention to anti-crime campaign they would've held regardless.
The same is true with this stupid story. Japs are killing shitty beetles, the Japanese government decides they can best draw attention to it through a corporate tie-in with a universally popular franchise--Pokémon--and the results pan out with high-turnout, and everyone's happy. Of course, until a literally who writer for a literally who blog decides "ACKTUALLY, IT IS SPECIFICALLY POKEYMAN GO PLAYERS WHO ARE SPECIFICALLY TARGETTING THIS BEETLE FOR SLAUGHTER"
In short, fuck you Joseph Gharagheer (aka OP). Nobody cares about your shitty opinions.
