I'm sure some GMs (including myself) aren't opposed to including EVs if the party members want to. We'd be willing to hear your thoughts on the matter if you think it could be executed well, but we have a mixture of people, some who like rigid tabletop rules and some who are used to only text-based RP.
And yes, it's completely fine to join the discord. Just keep in mind it's 4 AM in burgerland so activity won't be picking up much the next few hours. I myself am barely still conscious.
