My point was that USUM did not address the pacing, the corridor-like structure of the islands, and the large amounts of unskippable dialog, and forcing people to replay those things a year after they already did it made people sour on it. USUM does flesh out a lot of things, like the Pokemon sidequests, the Kanto gym, Ultra WarpRide, Surfing, the expanded dex, all that, but not addressing the pacing made a lot people chalk it up to be "Sun & Moon but the story is worse now"
