Shoving Moltres into Victory Road in LGPE was soulless. It was fine in the original RBY since it was GameFreak's first Pokemon game. But placing Moltres randomly in Victory Road when Articuno gets Seafoam Islands and Zapdos gets the Power Plant, locations that have themes that match their types, is unfortunate in a modern game. FRLG Moltres was in Mt. Ember and HGSS Moltres was in Mt. Silver. Shoving him back in Victory Road seems like a downgrade in comparison. I understand why they wouldn't include Sevii islands in LGPE. The main purpose of the Sevii Islands was to introduce Gen 2/3 features into FRLG like breeding, berries, new Pokemon and new items without altering the original Kanto experience. But LGPE doesn't have any Gen 2+ Pokemon or new mechanics like breeding, so there wouldn't be any point in adding the Sevii islands. Still, LGPE could've added a new volcano dungeon in Cinnabar where the player could encounter Moltres. Cinnabar did canonically have a volcano, after all. The LGPE Kanto artwork even has a volcano in Cinnabar, albeit on the left side of the island rather than on the right side like in Gen II and Gen IV. They probably just scrapped the idea. If they could change the main character and rival, add Master Trainers, Go catching mechanics, and even Mega Evolution, then clearly they weren't trying to be excessively "faithful" remakes like BDSP or pre-Elite Four FRLG. So what's the excuse for not adding a Cinnabar volcano or cave other than laziness?
