All of the artists I've seen drawing NSFW art of Kieran have been Japanese. I still plan on publishing my fics involving Kieran under a different account separate from my normal smut fanfiction for this very reason. What little following I have would likely become tainted by antis who are hellbent on policing what people can create of fictional characters. It's stupid, and it wouldn't have happened several years back when people didn't give a shit.
In terms of why there's less porn of characters like Kieran, I feel like it does come down to hobby/interest vs. money along with anti bullshit. It's a lot easier to gain a following by drawing NSFW art that appeals to a wide audience i.e. female characters. Husbando artists are harder to come by unless they appeal to a wide audience, and even they don't gain the same following as artists that draw NSFW art of women from what I've seen. Yumes/fujos often times don't create art that doesn't appeal to anyone other than other yumes/fujos. As someone who draws/writes
and is a chick, I only create content for characters that specifically appeal to me. And granted, I don't create things for money, but I don't see a lot of other yume/fujo artists who do the same thing as commission work. It's rare for me to come upon art of the male characters that I like, and it's usually other female artists who are making it. It's a lot easier to create art of female characters for money/recognition due to the wide appeal. Cute boy characters like Kieran are only going to appeal to a small subset of gay men/yumes/fujos/shota fans.
